We were talking about this topic in my Philosophy class last week, and I figured it would be a good topic to write about. If you would like me to post an opinion of yours on this site, send me an e-mail at my Hotmail address, which I have listed on the side of this site.
Anyway, some people said that they believed that there was a path set for you, and no matter what you try to do, you will follow that path. I really don't think I agree with this theory. If you think about it, if there is a path that you have to follow as you live your life, then it's not even worth living. You have no say over what you will do, even if you think you do. If this is true, life really is not worth living, because you cannot control it at all.
Life is worth living, and I believe that we have choices that we can make. Why would God waste so much time planning a life out for people? Also, he would have to know exactly who is going to Heaven and who is going to Hell if this were true. We are supposed to act like Jesus did to be able to go to Heaven, and many people try to live this way. Does that mean that they are going to Hell because before they were born, they were supposed to? I just think that this theory is terrible and doesn't make any sense at all.
If you have an opinion, write it in the comment box or just e-mail me or something, and I'll post it on here.
