I've Come to a Conclusion....

Life's really just to unpredictable for me. This entry may not be too exciting because it's on a more serious note... and I'm not really serious about anything... ever. But life this summer seems to me to be like a train that was running toward it's destination and just totally jumped off course and started running the other way.

Things this summer haven't changed for the better... but rather for the worst. It's nothing that I really want to reveal, but in general, things have been rather crappy. Sometimes it seems like the stability in my life is just crumbling away right before my eyes, and that can really make one feel like garbage. When all that you knew in the past just kind of disappears so quickly, it can really be a morale killer.

I guess maybe that's life and I just have to accept it, but it's never really happened to me before. Compared to other people, I think things have been rather easy for me in the past, and I have been really lucky for that... this just comes as a shock to my system that I don't really understand. In the past half of year, things were changing in my life that I guess I never realized until this summer... either I didn't really pay attention at all, or maybe I was just really naive.

There may be someone that reads this that knows what I am talking about, but most will not, and it will have to stay that way for now. I am sure people will find out what I am talking about in the future, but right now, I need to keep some things to myself. My problems aren't half of that as other people's, and I don't want to make it seem I am complaining about my life, because I am not. I know I am the one that has to improve my life and solve my own problems... nobody else, although some things are really out of one's control. This is just an area that I can use to rant about things, and in this case, it's just something that drives me insane and puts me in a bad mood. I like to think that it is usually pretty hard to actually make me angry, although sometimes I will act it as a joke. Lately I have been a lot more angry than usual, and it just sucks.

Well anyway, that's enough for this entry... I kind of wanted to write this to tell people that if I seemed to be in a crappier mood this summer than I have been in the past... there is a reason, and it's not you. Thanks for reading.

Clemens Suspended For 5 Games? GARBAGE...

Well over the summer I hadn't really felt the need to rant about anything, but after seeing Roger Clemens get suspended for 5 games, I figured I should. Clemens retaliated because the Blue Jays intentionally threw at A-Rod's knee TWICE... the first time the pitcher couldn't even hit him (nice accuracy), and the second time, Josh Towers thought he was tough... and then made fun of Tony Pena for being pissed off. By the way, Josh Towers is 5-9 with an ERA of 5.36... so basically, he isn't good.

First of all, let it be known that I am not a Roger Clemens fan. He's on the Yankees and I want him to win, but I do not like him at all. I think the way he goes about his business is very arrogant and tasteless, but I guess this is not the time and the place for that. But when your star player is thrown at intentionally TWICE, you need to retaliate. You can't allow your teammates to think that you don't have their backs. I was hoping Clemens would hit Rios earlier and right in the face (reminds me of Piazza) but I knew it wouldn't happen... he pitched a 2 hit game through 6 and helped to give them a relatively easy win with the score 9-2. What he did was necessary and he shouldn't be punished for it.

I understand that the umpires didn't want a brawl and didn't want the game to really get out of hand, and the ejection of him and Torre was fine, in my opinion. But the suspension was not. Josh Towers should have been suspended if the league was paying any attention to what was done the night before... you don't happen to just throw at a player's knee twice by accident, especially when it is known that the entire team hates him all because their infielder couldn't catch a fly ball as he yelled "HA!" when he ran by. Maybe he shouldn't have said that, but most likely a major league player shouldn't be affected by that and should catch a routine fly ball. Blame yourselves for that, Toronto. I won't even get started on Gibbons either, he's an idiot and I don't really feel like bashing him tonight.

Ah well, enough writing for me... I write enough at school and don't really know why I even continue this blog sometimes, but I figure I can rant about stuff that pisses me off and is absolute BS... like this for instance.

Go Yanks, the division is still within reach...

This will be a short one....

Just in... Roger Clemens is a waste of space.

Damon wants to be traded? Who wants a .240 hitter with an $13 million/year contract?

A-Rod will hit #500 tomorrow.

At least we don't have to endure Kei Igawa for a little while.

Have a nice day.

Worthless People

There are some absolutely worthless people on this Earth. It's actually pretty sickening. For instance, the kid who killed all those people at Virginia Tech. Yes, he was troubled, but I am so sick of hearing that as an excuse for what he did. There is no excuse for doing what he did, and the media needs to stop covering this as extensively as they have been. It really just gives people ideas that they shouldn't have, and as we all know, the media basically has a hold on our entire society. More worthless people are "copycats" and trying these things at their school... where do all these sick people come from?

Another group is extremely worthless people... the Westboro Baptist Church. These insane pieces of garbage are protesting the funerals of the victims at Virginia Tech. Yes, you read this right... they are PROTESTING the FUNERALS of the VICTIMS at the school. They say that they deserve what happened to them because higher education dismisses the teachings of God. How insane do you have to be to do something like this? They also hate every organized religion, and are racist and hate everyone but their kind. These people also protest funerals of the soldiers, saying that they don't need some low class person protecting them. The people of this "church," or cult as I like to call it, are extremely worthless and I would definitely have to say that the world would be much better off if they did not exist. To preach hate like that is unbelieveable, and to try to ingrain it into the heads of children to keep their cult going... it's got to stop. These people need to be arrested or something, and I know there is free speech but it seems as though at this point, they are crossing the line.

Don't visit their site, as it gives them money... but you can check their press release at The Smoking Gun.

My whole point for this so-called rant is that there are absolutely worthless people coming out of the woodworks right now, in the time of tragedy in this country. They need to be stopped, as they are depleting the morals and values of people in this society. All this stuff brings me to disbelief, as I am sure it brings you as well. Just be aware, all these things can happen anywhere, and we need to be the ones to make sure that tragedies like this don't happen again. You don't need to be so politically correct, which is taught so much in this country (and is an enormous mistake). These people are absolutely worthless and don't deserve to co-exist in our society, and nobody can stop you from holding that opinion and voicing it.

6 RBI for A-Rod

There's not even much to say. People say he couldn't come through in the clutch. I know it's regular season, but he saved the Yanks from an embarrassing loss to an awful team with his bottom of the 9th, 2 out walk-off grand slam. Well done A-Rod.

One More Month

I can't believe that we only have one more month of school. It really seems like yesterday that I was a freshman and moving in to Syracuse, but now I will be a senior and have one year left. After this year, I can't wait for school to end, to hopefully get somewhat of a break from the work that I had this year. Classes were just boring, and gave a lot of work, so that mix just sucks. If they were interesting, it would have been better, even with a big workload, but when you don't like them at all, it makes it all that much harder to study. Seems like everyone had a tough year this year, and I guess that is expected during the junior year. But, time is flying and I will be moving on soon, and hopefully I will find something that I like to do.

On a another note, I put up some music and stuff, going to try to find some more to make this site more interesting.

Hosed

It looks like we were royally snubbed in the NCAAs this year. While absolute garbage teams got in, we are stuck playing in the NIT. It's not all that bad, considering there are some formidable teams in there along with us, but I think Syracuse should have told the NCAA to shove it. Like Boeheim said, if 10-6 in the Big East doesn't get a team in the tournament, then we don't belong there. Take us out of the conference, it's not serving it's purpose for us. We finished IN FRONT of 2 teams in the Big East that GOT INTO the tournament.

Yeah, our non-conference schedule sucks, as it does every year, but I don't care. We beat GOOD teams in the conference. Most other schools can't say that, as most of the other conferences are INFERIOR to the Big East. Yes, I said it. Your school's conference is probably inferior. The ACC this year was in my opinion overrated, as it always is. The ACC is always made out to be this super conference, but it's really not. The SEC is always a good conference, but this year fell apart somewhat, especially Clemson. The Pac-10 is a joke, and is highly overrated, as I think that Oregon is the only team that will go really far, and UCLA will win a couple games. Yes, anything could happen, but this is my opinion. If you don't like it, I could care less. I am just so sick of getting shafted like this. We have a hell of a year in 2004-2005, and who do we end up playing? A great Vermont team. We got a 4 seed, and that was another shaft. The committee is filled with a bunch of morons.

I'm pissed because we deserved to get in and didn't. If we played bad at the end of the year, OK. But we didn't. We beat the hottest team in basketball. They have won 16 of 17 games. Who beat them? US. I feel bad for Demetris Nichols, Mookie Watkins, Terrence Roberts and Matt Gorman, who are leaving this school after playing in the NIT and not the NCAAs. These guys were good for us and got shafted. The committee also shafted thousands of fans who will not forget this.

The fact that now I am rooting for Texas for my bracket is pathetic... but oh well, I could really care less now. Time for baseball season. After we win the NIT.

GO ORANGE!

Biggest game of the year...

Basically every game so far for the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team have been the biggest games of the year. But the game tomorrow against the Georgetown Hoyas, who seem to be unbeatable as of late, is a game that can really make or break us for the NCAA tournament. Georgetown has been playing extremely well, but I believe that we can still say that we are playing pretty well, coming off of a 4 game winning streak. Most will write our team off for this game, but we absolutely have the talent to win the game. If everyone plays to their potential, there is no doubt in my mind that we will win. Our problem has been inconsistency this year, but I am sure that many will agree with me that we have the talent to beat the best of them.

We've been blown out in the Dome this year by Notre Dame, but I honestly do not think we will be blown out tomorrow night. We seem to usually play to our competition and do not let games get out of hand too frequently. We just need to shut down guys like Roy Hibbert, which is obviously easier said then done, but it's possible. One huge factor is rebounding, especially offensive rebounds, where we give ourselves a second chance to score. Since we shoot a lot of perimeter shots, our guards need to follow their shots and try to rebound offensively, so that we can control the game. Defense needs to be stellar, but I think that we will do that, as long as we don't give up points to quickly. Our biggest challenge: DON'T GET INTO FOUL TROUBLE. We have done that the last few games, and it's really killed us. We need to make sure that our big guys down low don't get into foul trouble early, because if they do, we won't win. I know these things are all obvious, but I think those really are what our weaknesses have been, and if we can overcome these issues, we should fare pretty well.

Well, I was just thinking of the game and figured it would be a good way to update the blog, so that's about it.

LET'S GO ORANGE!

We need this win, hope we get it...

What is this world coming to?

Well, after hearing some news today, I can truly say that I have lost a lot of hope for the human race. I am witnessing the way that greed can take over the mind of one... enough that it can make one take the lives of the innocent. I am extremely sick to my stomach right now, and can't get certain thoughts out of my head. I wish this never happened, but we cannot do anything about it now, and that's what really might hurt the most.

I learned that a friend of the family was murdered over money yesterday. He was a great person and always treated my family extremely well. The person who murdered him, along with two other businessmen was an absolute coward. He killed for the sake of killing, and that truly leaves a sick feeling in my stomach. Then he went on and killed himself. I know there are many sick people out there, and I hear of these insane people on a daily basis. But when something like this happens to someone you know, it really hits home.

Why do the good die young? Why does it always have to be them? I have so many words running through my head that I shouldn't post on here... they probably would make me seem like a maniac. Didn't this gunman, who knew his victims, think about what he was doing? Didn't he think that he would be taking the lives of these innocent human beings? Didn't he think that he was leaving young children without fathers? Didn't he think that he was leaving wives without husbands? Didn't he think that he was leaving parents without sons? For one second, didn't he stop and think about his probably worthless life and think that maybe he could turn things around? I am just so angry and sad right now... I cannot explain it. My family, who knew him much better than I did... didn't this lunatic gunman think of all the friends of his victims, who are now missing a great person and friend?

I am beginning to truly lose faith in mankind. I always was one that wanted to trust people, and give them the benefit of the doubt if things looked ugly. At least the people I knew...

This event just shows that we can't trust anyone. The gunman called a business meeting so that he could kill these businessmen. Someone they knew, calling a meeting, so that he can kill them. This really makes a person think... could something like this happen to me? And it really makes it hard to trust people, even those you might consider to be a friend...

At least these men are in a better place; a place where they don't have to deal with any more of these problems. Their families and friends miss them though, and it's going to take a long time for our community to get over this event. I wish it never happened, but as I said, what hurts the most is the fact that we can't do anything about it.

The gunman is also hopefully where he belongs... rotting in Hell.

This is just another example as to what greed can do to a human. It's one of the seven deadly sins... and this is a prime example. Don't let it take you over, because you will hurt the lives of so many people.

RIP to the three victims, who I will remain nameless for the privacy of their families. God bless you all.
